In the Orientation/ Training sessions, an overview will be given of the volunteer opportunities throughout the Centre. The Outreach and Better at Home Programs will be explained in more detail as this is valuable information for all volunteers to know. We will include a section on recognizing the signs that a senior is becoming isolated or is a victim of elder abuse. As well, we will look at the community resources available for seniors. An important component of our training is the development of communication and listening skills.
