Fundraising & Community Engagement Coordinator

Part-Time | Reports to Executive Director

Summary of Role:

Working closely with the Executive Director, this role leads fundraising efforts to secure the resources needed to advance our mission. It is a donor-facing role that drives the full fundraising cycle (identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship) of individual donors, grantors, and corporate sponsors. Core responsibilities include executing a multi-level fundraising plan spanning major gifts, legacy gifts, monthly giving, tribute giving, grants, sponsorships, and special campaigns. This is a 4-day per week role with flexibility on hours and days worked.

Key Duties:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive annual fundraising plan in alignment with LSRS’s strategic goals and objectives.
  • Maintain and build positive philanthropic relationships that result in meeting or exceeding fundraising goals and outcomes.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising events.
  • Manage all deadlines, workflows, and project plans for fundraising activities including:

    > Budget, plans and briefs, and timelines

    > Timely collection, tracking, and managing of donor information

    > Recognition, stewardship and impact reporting

  • Actively seek to deepen current donor relationships and forge new ones.
  • Participate in grant program, including grant applications and tracking grant deliverables.
  • Inspire, promote, and support LSRS fundraising and marketing initiatives both online and in-person, internal and external to LSRS.
  • Identify barriers to successful fundraising program execution and escalating as appropriate.
  • Work with the Marketing team to use impactful storytelling and communications methods to convey the fundraising case to external partners.
  • Steward and leverage relationships with existing funders.
  • Track progress and results to demonstrate the impact of philanthropic support and engagement.
  • Understand all aspects of the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Contribute to policy and procedure development that reflect ethical fundraising practices.

Conditions of

Employment:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive and professional fundraising experience in the charitable sector with strong donor engagement experience.
  • Proven track record of success with donor prospecting, solicitation, relationship management and stewardship and recognition.
  • Experience managing a donor pipeline and portfolio of donors, with experience in face-to-face meetings.
  • Nuanced understanding of the dynamics within the charitable sector.
  • Experience with data collection, surveys, and program evaluation.
  • Driver’s license, and access to a reliable motor vehicle with insurance coverage that has no policy restrictions for work related driving.

Seniors Fitness & Wellness Instructors 

Part-Time | Reports to Programs Manager

Summary of Role:
Langley Seniors Resource Society is excited to be expanding our programming into Aldergrove and is looking for enthusiastic, experienced instructors who are passionate about helping adults 50+ stay active, connected, and engaged. We are seeking instructors for a variety of fitness and wellness programs, including group fitness, yoga, Tai Chi, dance, strength and balance, stretching, mobility, and other specialized activities.
 
  • Plan and lead safe, enjoyable, and effective fitness and/or yoga classes for older adults.
  • Modify exercises to accommodate varying abilities and mobility levels.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere.
  • Monitor participant safety and provide appropriate exercise progressions and modifications.
  • Arrive prepared and on time with all necessary equipment and music (if applicable).
  • Communicate professionally with participants and LSRS staff.
  • Maintain current attendance records as required.

Conditions of

Employment:

BCRPA certification is preferred for general fitness instruction; however, we recognize that qualified instructors may hold certifications through other recognized organizations. We are also interested in instructors with specialized training that may fall outside the BCRPA system. For example, yoga instructors may have completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training program and hold registration or credentials through organizations such as Yoga Alliance rather than BCRPA.
 
  • Recognized certification or formal training in their area of instruction
  • Experience teaching adults 50+, seniors, or individuals with varying abilities
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification where appropriate
  • Knowledge of safe, age-friendly exercise practices
  • Ability to modify activities for different fitness levels and mobility needs
  • A warm, encouraging, and inclusive teaching style
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Appropriate insurance and professional credentials, where required
  • A satisfactory Criminal Record Check
