Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors serves as the guiding force behind LSRS, bringing together dedicated volunteers who shape our organization’s future through strategic planning and policy development. Meeting monthly, these committed individuals also participate in various committees, ensuring our society continues to meet the evolving needs of Langley’s senior community.
We welcome inquiries from community members interested in joining our Board. If you’re passionate about making a difference in seniors’ lives and have skills to contribute to our mission, we’d love to hear from you.

Loretta Solomon, President
Loretta Solomon has been a resident of Langley for 35 years. She has 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, many of them raised in Langley. Loretta has a Bachelor of Science Degree and master’s degree in nursing from UBC, and prior to retirement was an Adjunct Professor of Nursing at the University of BC School of Nursing. Loretta has worked in healthcare for 35 years, starting her career as a pediatric nurse and Head Nurse at Surrey Memorial Hospital. She was employed as a Director of Nursing at Sunnyhill Health Centre for Children and Director of the Pediatric Neurosciences Program at BC Children’s Hospital. Prior to retirement Loretta was the Director for Maternal, Child, Youth and Neonatal Services and Executive Director at Surrey Memorial Hospital and Delta Hospital. Loretta has been a volunteer at the Centre for the past 8 years and the Board President for the past 7 years. She is passionate about ensuring the voices of seniors are heard in planning services that impact their lives.
Sherry Tingley, Vice President
Sherry comes from 4 generations of Langley pioneers. She joined her late husband being involved in the community in several ways for many years and continues to do so. She has been a community volunteer since her children started school and has served in the caring profession of Critical Cardiac, Emergency and Hospice nursing all her adult life. Sherry retired from the clinical setting to care for aging parents. She joined LSRS in 2009 and has volunteered for the organization for over half of those years. Her desire to work hard, give many hours, apply long-honed skills/life experiences and to enhance the quality of life for all seniors is an asset. You will see her at most of our special events, and as an LSRS Ambassador.
Michael Chang, Board Director
Michael Chang immigrated to Canada with his family in 2006 - Langley has been his only home since his first day in Canada! He has a wonderful wife and is the proud father of 2 children. Michael has been an excellent leader in the Korean community and others, especially in senior cares and multicultural aspects. He is currently serving as Honorary Ambassador of Seoul Metropolitan Council and Gapyeong County, the President of Korean Veterans Association, Chief Advisor of Korean Business Association of BC, Director of the Arboretum and Botanical Society of Langley, advisor of Port Moody Youth Orchestra and Co-Chair of Multicultural Drum Festival. He also formally served as Multicultural Advisory Council of BC, a board member of New Vista Society (care home and senior housing) for 6 years, Honorary Ambassador of Pyeong Chang Winter Games in 2018, director of Langley Community Music School and Vice-President of Korean National Unification Advisory Council. Michael cares so much about the well-being of seniors and vulnerable friends in our community.
Lorna Dysart, Board Director
Lorna Dysart has a diploma in Municipal Government Administration and is a certified Parliamentarian. She has managed her own consulting firm advising private and public corporations on municipal government affairs. She has held the positions of Assistant City Clerk with the City of Kelowna, and the Vancouver Public Library, Chief Election Officer for Whistler, BC and as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Village of Belcarra, as well as numerous other positions. Lorna is pleased to be involved as a LSRS volunteer.
Nav Mahal, Board Director
Currently serving with the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada in the Refugee Protection Division, Nav is deeply committed to supporting individuals from vulnerable communities. Prior to joining the Refugee Protection Division, she spent four years in the Immigration Division, where she managed cases involving individuals referred by the Canada Border Services Agency, including those detained for immigration-related matters or deemed inadmissible to Canada. Nav holds a Bachelor of Law Enforcement from the Justice Institute of British Columbia and a Master of Arts in Justice Studies from Royal Roads University. She is excited about the opportunity to serve on the LSRS Board and looks forward to collaborating with fellow board members to create meaningful and lasting impact.
Saurabh Seth, Board Director
Saurabh Seth moved to Canada in 2019 and has called Langley home since 2021, where he lives with his wife and two school-aged boys. A business coach and financial crime compliance professional, Saurabh is the founder and CEO of Ethical Growth Partners Inc., a Langley-based firm specializing in business coaching and leadership development. Deeply committed to Langley and its future, Saurabh ran for Township of Langley Council in 2024 and currently serves on the boards of the ACAMS Vancouver Chapter and the Better Langley Community Society. He brings over 21 years of experience in strategic leadership, risk management, and stakeholder engagement across Canada and internationally. Saurabh is passionate about ensuring that all residents, regardless of background, are aware of and connected to the community services available to them. He looks forward to contributing to LSRS's mission and advocating for the needs of seniors across Langley.
