WHAT IS SENIORS OUTREACH?
The Outreach Program, under the umbrella of the Langley Senior Recreation and Resources Centre, provides practical services to seniors in Langley, helping them to stay connected to the community and retain their independence.
Volunteers help us fulfill our mission which is: Improved quality of life for seniors that they may enjoy lives of dignity, hop, security and meaning.
DID YOU KNOW?
Although loneliness and isolation can happen to anyone, seniors are at a much higher risk of experiencing these conditions. Isolation can lead to physical, mental and emotional deterioration.
THE GOOD NEWS!
Isolation can be reversed and loneliness can be alleviated! Help is available to support you to reconnect and find new friends, new activities and information that gives you choices.

Information & Referral Service

Seniors Telephone BuddiesTrained senior volunteers are linked with an isolated individual for a weekly friendly chat. Telephone: 604-530-3020 Ext 306
Housing CounsellorsTrained volunteers are available on Wednesdays from 1:30 - 3:30 pm to help with information on seniors housing options. Telephone: 604-530-3020 Ext 319 – please leave a message
Better at Home ServicesBetter at Home program - services funded by BC Government to help seniors remain at home longer. These services can be subsidized on a sliding scale based on your annual household income. Telephone: 604-530-3020 Ext 302, 305 or 306 1. Transportation to appointments - volunteer drivers pick you up at home and take you to your appointment, then return you home. You are invoiced monthly for the fee for the gas that applies to your situation.
2. Grocery Shopping - a volunteer picks you up at home and takes you to the store of your choice or they can pick up a shopping list and shop for you. A fee for gas applies. 3. Light Housekeeping - a paid housekeeper will provide 2 hours of housecleaning on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis. 4. Friendly Visits - a trained volunteer will visit at your home on a weekly basis to reduce isolation and loneliness.
