About Us

The Langley Senior Resources Society is an independent, not for profit, charitable organization that has been providing health, recreational and food services to seniors and adults of all abilities since 1982.  The Society is lead by a voluntary Board of Directors who work or live in the Langley community. This Board is a governing Body, with the day to day operations being managed through the Director of Operations, staff and Volunteers.

The Society employs over 30 staff and utilizes the time and talent of over 200 volunteers.

Besides recreation and health services the Society also provides housing management services to 2 private Congregate Care Facilities in Langley - Harrison Landing & Harrison Pointe.

The Langley Senior Recreation and Resources Centre is not directly funded by any level of government but is funded from many different sources including:

  • Membership Fees
  • City of Langley
  • Contracts with Fraser Health
  • Catering & Food Services
  • United Way Sustaining Grant
  • Gaming dollars
  • Donations
  • Private Pay Clients
  • Grants

The LSRS Board of Directors is made up of up to 12 volunteer candidates who once elected, act as a team to set policies and goals planning for the future of the Society. Board members meet for regular monthly Board Meetings as well as Committee meetings or special meetings as needed.

The Mission of Langley Seniors Recreation & Resource Centre is improved quality of life for seniors and adults with disabilities that they may enjoy lives of dignity, hope, security and meaning.

The Langley Seniors Recreation & Resource Centre will:

  • Be recognized as trusted, innovative leader in providing and modeling easy to use, high quality programs and services that are responsive to the needs of the community with  special emphasis on seniors and their families;
